The other child struck, an 11-year-old, is reportedly "progressing nicely" and may be released from the hospital Sunday after initially being listed in stable condition after the incident on Friday night, Oct. 18, on North Central Avenue in Hartsdale.

Both children are at Westchester Medical Center.

"The 14-year-old is in a medically induced coma resultant to his condition - swelling," Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said. "He is still listed as critical but stable. Hopefully, time is his ally as he fights to recover from his traumatic injury."

The driver of the vehicle involved, a 28-year-old man, remain at the scene after the incident at 7:50 p.m. Friday and cooperated with police officers.
